CHILDREN'S HEALTH
John has four children ranging in ages from 2 to 26, and one of his greatest joys is treating children. The formation of healthy habits can start early. By balancing the energy of the child, many pediatric ailments that are reaching epidemic conditions, such as Asthma, Eczema, ADD and ADHD can be successfully avoided. Acupuncture/acupressure, herbs, massage and nutritional support can strengthen a child's immune system, improve concentration, and help to create a healthy digestive system.
Pediatrics is one of the oldest specialties of Chinese Medicine. Rather than treating children as small adults, Chinese Medicine recognizes children's bodies to be very different from adults in structure and function. For example, the Spleen system, which includes biomedical aspects of the Pancreas and Small Intestine, is not fully matured in children. Conditions such as colic, food allergies and many digestive disorders are due to the weakness of the Spleen. A treatment for these disorders could be as simple as adhering to a healthier and simple diet and performing simple acupressure and massage techniques for your child at home.
Addressing health issues at their onset is an important key in promoting health and well-being during childhood and adolescence. As children's bodies are still immature and their immune system is inherently weak, illnesses can suddenly change for the worse. Correcting the underlying organ imbalances that cause symptoms of digestive discomfort and asthma in children will ensure that they will have less physical problems as adults.
